Rental DVDs by post; what a great idea! I've watched more films in the past few months than I had done in the past few years

I like most kinds of films, but probably lean more towards action films e.g. Die Hard, Blade, Starship Troopers. However, the best film I've watched of late has to be The Butterfly Effect. Now there's a film that makes you think and has quite an interesting twist!

So what's your favourite flick?

The Lost Boys, The Green Mile, The Mothman Prophecies, The Others - I'm more of a thriller/mystery/spooky film watcher, although I love Monty Pythons Life of Brian etc...

I like most films that keep me on the edge of my seat. I like historical films provided they tell the truth and not some fanciful idea of Hollywood's version of the truth.

Two of the best psychological films I've seen are Phone Booth and the one with Robin Williams playing a photo developer - can't remember the name.

I don't really sit down much with a film very often, but after a nice meal and a bottle or two of wine last night, my wife made me :( watch 'Chasing Freedom' with her. It's actually based on true events about a woman's attempt to seek political asylum in the USA, after a life under the Taliban in Afghanistan.

However, any film has to be exceptionally good to keep my attention. Not sure whether it was the film or the wine, but....it wasn't long before I fell asleep!

The Matrix Trilogy
Star Wars (All of them)
The Ring
Saw
Seven
9mm
Training Day

I like action and horror films but also any really well made martial arts films (not ballet dancers like Jean Claude Van-Damme) with truly skilful martial artists - anything Bruce Lee and some Jackie Chan.

Went to see this yesterday after my eldest perstered. It's not bad really. Better than I expected considering I'm not really into Batman.

Anyone going to see War of the Worlds. I just hope it tries to stick to the original story, but I doubt that very much. Should be good though.
