View Full Version : How significant is the Internet to your business?
Is the Internet really all it's cracked up to be?
There are plenty of people earning full-time incomes through the use of the Internet, whether that be through the selling of information or providing a service online. I even know of people earning 3-figures sums (although I've heard of people earning more I'm not in any kind of contact with them that I know of) from Google's AdSense scheme (https://www.google.com/adsense/).
As a small business owner, what role does the Internet play for you?

In general, the internet is quite a big player in my business. Even though I send out flyers and phone companies around asking if they want to buy my training services, the internet has generated quite a bit of business for me.
I host a live help advice, and a community (much like this) which I can build up relationships with existing, past and potential clients. It's definitely not a replacement for the good old meeting, but it does help to clarify a single qusetion which may by burning in the back of a number of my clients minds but just didn't want to ask.

the internet is relevant in this day and age to most businesses as more and more people are using it hence the potential to improve a business is quite high the total online trade is in its millions so a piece of that cake comes in handy to any business but having said that it has to be done with relevence to what line of business you are in .

The internet is essential for our business. For selling, making contacts, working irregular hours, dealing with people all over the world, and researching. Also, being able to give people a website link to read at the leisure is excellent. I have had quite a few sales by just giving my web address to people in passing, or putting it on the end of e-mails... oh, and picking up unusual items, and bargins on ebay... and finding the best services... well.. just about everything...

My once piece of advice as about your website is you get out of it what you put in. If it's lifeless, boring, never updated and you've done nothing to advertise it (plenty of free ways!) you can't make the net work for you.

Our website has proven to be our most useful tool in creating and marketing our brand.
