Hi,

Just wanted to introduce myself to you all.

I am Clare Farquhar and I run a-ok admin providing virtual assistant services to individuals and businesses. I am particularly interested in helping new businesses with promotional material, databases, presentations etc.

If you, or anyone you know, requires off-site administrative support on a flexible basis or a more regular arrangement, please let me know.

Thanks.
Clare.

Hi Clare and welcome to the forum,

Perhaps you could tell us a bit more about yourself and your business e.g. how did you get into that particular line of work?

I'd certainly be interested in knowing why choosing your services would be in the best interests of a business start-up...

Coincidentally, I was in your neck of the woods at the weekend. Glasgow certainly has a great selection of restaurants and bars! ;)

Well, I live in Renfrewshire but am originally from Whitley bay. I love going back there as often as I can – the bars are even better!
My interests include football (you can probably guess which team as I am a Geordie) and reading.

I came across the term Virtual Assistant on the web. I was looking for something new as I had a baby one year ago and wanted something I could fit around my new commitment. I thought “I can do that” as I am experienced in System Process Support which involves administration for presenting ideas and supporting senior management with information and reports.

Start-up businesses can benefit from using a virtual assistant, particularly those who are experts in their field but perhaps don’t have experience of administration or computers. There is no requirement for office space or recruiting a member of staff, which saves money. The service is completely flexible which means there is no need for a fixed budget, you only pay for what you need. Services of interest could include; word processing of mail-shots, business plans, tenders, promotional material such as posters or leaflets, presentations for taking to potential clients or the bank, databases of new customers or suppliers…. Whatever the request, we will try our best to help!

I actually know some people in Jarrow which according to Multimap is not far from Whitley bay.

Shame you're so far away as it would be good to have you come to one of our Liverpool meet-ups :)

So you work entirely from home?

I am still working part-time until my business is established - well that's the idea!!

From small acorns grow mighty oaks! :)

Is this your first venture into business on your own (presumably, you're a one-woman band)?
