Dear Michael,
I have seen quite a few of these advertised, but I've never been quite sure how it all works. A brief summary might be helpful to anyone else who may be interested too.

Hi All
The long awaited service update has now come into effect.
We have now begun providing 0844 numbers under the same terms as the 0870 numbers we used to provide... i.e. free number and free call management...
We're excited about this service update and hope it will allows us to provide an even better service.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the clients that have registered for our service from this forum now that things have calmed down a little i'm looking forward to spending a little more time on here chatting and getting to know you all a bit better!

Dear Michael,
thanks for letting me know you found OPEN OFFICE useful.
Regarding the 0870 number I have been using the service for some while now through the SmartNumber company you put me in touch with.
What are the changes and how will it effect what I already have from them?

Hi
Thanks for that Stephen it's appreciated, i'll also forward you some details re Network Yorkshire as requested....
Hi Derek,
It won't effect your 0870 number or the use of it at all, the 0844 service has been brought in to deal with changes to the 0870 service that are on the way in Jan '08...
If in the mean time you would like to give a free 0844 local rate number a try (cheaper for your customers to call than the 0870 numbers) please do feel free.

Dear Michael,
I have been using your 0844 numbers very successfully for some months now, but wondered if you offered a similar service for 0800 numbers as I expect to be dealing with the general public and thought the 0800 number may be more attractive.

I would like to sign up for this, but will it still work with a non-BT landline (eg: Virgin)?
