The ImageEdge is a ruler cutting system suitable for trimming large format prints for exhibitions, point of sale displays, banners, vinyl prints, foamboard (up to 5mm thick), forex, corex and other materials.
With the availability & popularity of large format printing increasing, the trimming of large prints such as banners and point of sale posters can prove problematic, especially if you also need to cut through foamboard up to 5mm thick.
Depending on the length of your existing ruler, your print may require several cuts which in turn makes the job of keeping a straight line difficult - and if you're cutting through foamboard it becomes even more difficult.
This is where the ImageEdge becomes an invaluable tool, enabling you to trim prints up to 3 metres in length in one go, with 5mm foamboard in 2 or 3 goes.
The ruler is split into four sections which can be clipped together to make a range of sizes: 2.5ft (30"), 5ft (60"), 7.5ft (90") and 10ft (120"). A cutter slides along two grooves which run along the Image Ruler which allow you to cut either flush to the edge of your image or leaving a 1/4" (6mm) border on the other - handy for photographic or encapsulated prints.
The blade is only exposed when the top of the cutter is depressed. The blade automatically retracts when you let go of the top. Since one hand is placed ontop of the cutter and the other on the ruler, its virtually impossible to cut yourself when using the ImageEdge.
Each blade has four edges - simply use a new corner whenever you need to change it. This makes the cutting system cost effective; for example 15 blades become 60.
The ImageEdge comes with two cutters as standard. Since the rules can be used in different lengths you could have two rulers ready for use (or have two people using the one system) - perhaps a 30" for smaller print jobs with a 90" for larger jobs such as banners etc.
With a sturdy padded bag supplied as standard you can carry the entire ImageEdge kit safely should you need to carry it around with you.
