help with email marketing.....

I've been thinking about launching an email campaign to promote our free services but dont really know where to start....

I know its all about targeting your key audiance etc and making sure yout using a list that has used a double opt in to avoid damaging your brand with unsolicited email etc, but.....

Are there are businesses out there that will do the whole process for you from email design right through to the planning, implementation and control of the campaign??

....If so how much should I be expecting to pay for such a service!?

There are many companies on the web who offer this service if you do a google search.

My only advice is to be very careful, as spam is now a very serious matter. Make sure you find out where they get their email databases from, if a spam email has a link to your site, or your email in it, and someone complains, you could find yourself being blacklisted, or even have your service provider threaten to pull the plug on your services.

have you considered setting up a mailing list, that way you are not spamming and can generate more business from your exisiting browsers ?

Absolutely, that is the best way to do things, get an attractive site going with lots of useful goodies and articles, and get people to sign up to get updates in their email, that way you know you can safely contact them.

I am not sure if it's of any use, but I set up email campaigns for customers as well help them create their own mailing lists and manage the process from writing & design through to production.

I don't work with "bought" lists because spam really ticks me off, but if you would like to have a chat about what you want to do, perhaps I can give you some ideas and recommend someone who might be able help too (if you are going down the "paid lists" path).
