I'm probably teaching my grandma to suck eggs here, but I came across this bit of advice which I'd like to share.
If you've tried logging onto the internet one morning and find that your password is coming up as unknown, try the following advice before ringing your ISP on an expensive 0870 number. This was the advice I was given by my local expert.
There are multiple causes to this issue. I request you to perform the following steps in sequence:
# Step 1 : Clear the Internet Cache & Cookies #
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools in the menu bar.
3. Choose Internet Options. The Internet Options window will open.
4. In the Internet Option Window choose the General tab.
5. Click Delete Cookies to delete the cookies.
6. After deleting the cookies click on Delete Files.
7. A small window will open, check mark the 'Delete all offline content' and click OK.
8. After the computer deletes them, Click OK to close the Internet options Window.
# Step 2 : Clear the stored password in the Internet Explorer #
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. Then click the Content tab.
3. Next, choose the AutoComplete button.
4. Check off Clear Forms and/or Clear Passwords to clear all saved items from the AutoComplete history.
5. Click OK a couple of times to exit.
You can now try accessing the website that you wish to access on the Internet Explorer.
Also, I recommend trying to open the web mail from other web browsers like Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. For your convenience I am providing the link from where you can download the Mozilla Firefox.
